FREED-HARDEMAN UNIVERSITY in Henderson, Tenn., named three Roanoke-area students to the dean's list for the fall semester. They are: Allison Cooke of Roanoke, and Laura Warner and Shane Warner of Vinton
KRISTIN CRISAFI of Roanoke was named to the dean's list at Meredith College.
KATHRYN McPHAUL, a freshman from Roanoke, made the dean's list of Lenior-Rhyne College in Hickory, N.C.
VIRGINIA COLLEGE has announced its recent graduates from the Roanoke Valley. They include: Thomas Claridge, Dave Cockram, Wayne Hayes, Robert Huddleston, Donna Owens, Deanna Smith, Rodney Slodorfen, Steven Vuruh, Barry Willburn, all associate of applied science in electronics technology degrees; Jeff Saunders and Michael Wittmeier, associate of applied science in computer information systems degrees; Tosha Taylor, associate of applied science in legal office administration degree; and Alex Wimmer, a diploma in electronics technology.
NATIONAL BUSINESS COLLEGE has awarded honors scholarships to six first-year students who maintained a 3.0 grade-point average. The students, all of Roanoke, are: Adele Salisbury, Kenneth Mowbray, Margaret Lowe, Phuong Khuu, Kelli Sue Davis and Carolyn Atkins.
The college also awarded 18 Joseph E. Hurn scholarships to students who have completed 48 credit hours and maintained at least a 3.0 grade-point average: Theresa Sloan, Kathy Sloan, Christine Rumensky, Ladwone Preston, Kathy McConnell, Gail Lamar, Brenda Hale, Donna Gravely, Sharon Franklin, Lisa Firebaugh, Pamela Edgecumbe, Chad Cubitt, Sandra Marie Doyle, Sunday Callegari, Susan Cassell, Donna Blankenship, Virgie Underwood and Melissa Cheatham, all of Roanoke.
Advanced studies scholarships to students who major in two subjects or major in one and minor in another while maintaining at least a 2.0 grade-point average were awarded to Joseph Lucas Gutherie and Robert Philpott, both of Roanoke,

JONATHAN COOK of Roanoke graduated from Lee College in Cleveland. Tenn., in December with a bachelor's degree in business administration.
