Hunter Hoggatt scored 30 points to lead the Golden Eagles to a Seminole District victory over the Colonels in Altavista.
Hoggatt, who used to attend Altavista, led four players in double figures as Staunton River rebounded from an 11-4 deficit in the first quarter. The Golden Eagles (6-9, 6-9) outscored the Colonels (12-4, 12-4) 33-12 in the third period.
Kelvin Martin added 16 points for Staunton River, while Jeff English added 12 and Lance Price 10.
Dennis Brown paced the Colonels with 21 points and 10 rebounds, while Travis Crider had 20 points.
Tazewell 57, Blacksburg 50: Jason Snapp scored a game-high 18 points as the Bulldogs virtually led the whole game, knocking off the Indians in a non-district game in Tazewell.
Snapp scored eight of his 18 in the fourth quarter to prevent any Blacksburg comeback. Thad Beavers added 11 for the Bulldogs (7-9), who have won five of their last six games.
Blacksburg was led by Philip Klaus and Krishna Pacifici, who each scored 16.
Lebanon 65, George Wythe 63: Ben Carpenter scored seven of his game-high 17 points in the fourth quarter as the Pioneers knocked off the Maroons in a Hogoheegee District game in Lebanon.
The Pioneers (11-5, 10-2), who lead the district by a half game over Chilhowie, led by five late in the game before the Maroons' Artie Hall hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to provide the final margin.
The Maroons (10-4, 9-3), who trailed by eight going into the fourth quarter, made a late run behind Ted Ring, who scored eight of his 16 in the final period. Brian Barnes also added 16 for the Maroons.
Rural Retreat 53, PH-Glade Spring 45: In Glade Spring, the Indians jumped out to a five-point first quarter advantage and held their lead as they sailed past the Rebels in a Hogoheegee District contest.
Barry Ward led Rural Retreat (4-11, 4-7) with a game-high 12 points.
Dennis Hill was the leading scorer for PH-Glade Spring (4-10, 4-6) with 11 and Jarred May added 10.
Meadowbridge, W.Va., 61, Covington Boy's Home 54: In Meadowbridge W.Va., the Indians came out strong in the third quarter, turning a 16-point deficit into a two-point lead, but they couldn't hold on as they fell to Meadowbridge in non-district action.
Covington Boy's Home was plagued by four technical fouls in the fourth quarter. Meadowbridge converted on the free throws breaking a 50-50 tie and finishing the game on an 11-4 run.
Mike Burns led previously winless Meadowbridge (1-15) with 25 points.
The Indians (10-11) were led by Michael Harvey's 13 points. Chris Hampton and Sean Riddick each added 12.
