MEETING ON HENRY STREET SET SATURDAY

The Roanoke Redevelopment and Housing Authority plan a public meeting on plans to rebuild Henry Street. The meeting will be from 9:30-11:30 Saturday morning in the cafeteria of Addison Aerospace Magnet Middle School, Fifth Street and Orange Avenue Northwest. The meeting was postponed from an earlier date because of snow.

Consultants will present their proposals for erecting nightclubs, restaurants, shops, a radio station and an amphitheater along the former black commercial street, now First Street Northwest. After the presentation, the authority will record opinions from the audience. Transcriptions of the public's comments will be visible on an overhead screen and available in printed form after the meeting.
