TECH STUDENT'S FUNERAL FRIDAY

A funeral has been scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday for Theresa C. Gillespie, the graduate student whose body was found Monday in a remote area of Virginia Tech's campus.

Toxicology results that could shed more light on Gillespie's death may be available by this afternoon, Tech Police Chief Mike Jones said. An autopsy Tuesday was inconclusive but showed no signs of trauma, he said.

Gillespie, 27, was last seen Saturday night leaving Maxwell's in Blacksburg, where she dined with her husband, Clyde, and friends.

A viewing at McCoy Funeral Home in Blacksburg will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today. The funeral, also at McCoy, will be followed by the burial at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem.

On campus, a nondenominational memorial service is scheduled for 4 p.m. Feb. 22 in the War Memorial Chapel.
