ANSWERS IN STUDENT'S DEATH ELUSIVE

The toxicology report on a Virginia Tech graduate student found dead Monday will not be back for at least another week, the medical examiner's office said Thursday.

Theresa C. Gillespie, 27, was found fully clothed with no signs of trauma in a wooded area behind Tech's football stadium.

An autopsy performed Tuesday was inconclusive, and Deputy Chief Medical Examiner Dr. David Oxley said toxicology reports take at least two weeks, usually longer.

Police were hoping for a quick turnaround on the report to shed some light on Gillespie's death.

"We had been given reason to believe that the medical examiner could get the results for us this week, but they've gotten tied up testifying in court cases," Tech Police Chief Mike Jones said.
