Federal and state officials said Thursday localities can be reimbursed for some of the money spent to clear roads after January's near blizzard.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency approved the aid after officials reviewed estimates of the snowstorm's cost to Virginia residents. Cities and counties can recoup funds used to clear roads for rescue vehicles and to open up snow emergency routes or select primary roads in localities without such designations.
