First newsletter

RADFORD - The first issue of the Radford Heritage Foundation News, a quarterly newsletter to members, government and other officials, media and other interested in historic preservation in the Radford City area, is in the mail.

The initial 4-page issue highlights the purposes of the foundation, notes the recent 25th anniversity of "The Long Way Home" outdoor drama, tells of the interest by the USS Radford Association.

Charlotte trip

BLACKSBURG - The Blacksburg Retired Citizens group is planning a trip to Charlotte, N.C., on Aug. 29, to see the play "Phantom of the Opera," at the Blumenthal Arts Center.
