          Junior Miss pageant practice Thursday at the Roanoke Civic Center. 
          Thirty-one high school seniors from throughout Virginia are 
          competing for the title and more than $62,000 in college 
          scholarships. Preliminary events, including the talent competition, 
          will be held at the civic center Friday night. Amanda Biles, 
          Virginia's Junior Miss for 1995, received $21,000 in scholarships at
          state and national competitions.  She's a freshman at the University
          of Virginia.
