Art lecture March 7
The Nationsbank Noon Lecture Series, ``American Art Today,'' will continue March 7 with a talk by realist painter Jack Beal, whose work is on exhibit at the Art Museum of Western Virginia.
The series continues with sculptor Audrey Flack on March 21, art historian Anthony Janson on April 11 and Katherine Lee, director of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, on April 25.
The free lectures will take place in the art museum's lecture hall, 20 E. Church Ave. Those who attend may bring their lunch.

Scholar-in-residence
Roanoke College has announced the selection of Native American artist Kevin Red Star as a Copenhaver Scholar-in-Residence March 11-22.
Red Star will lecture on his work and other Native American art March 13 at 7:30 p.m. in Olin Hall, room 231.

Women's History Month
Lynchburg College has scheduled several events in recognition of Women's History Month:
Greta Evans, director of public relations for WSLS-TV (Channel 10 in Roanoke), will present ``Cries of Agony, Shouts of Joy'' March 12 at 7 p.m. in Hopwood Hall Auditorium.
Kay Goodman, participant in the fourth World Conference on Women held in Beijing, will lead a discussion titled ``Only Together We Hold Up the Sky" at noon on March 15 in the East Room of Burton Student Center.
``When It Comes To Eating, Men and Women Are Not Equal'' will be discussed by Kathleen Zylan, professor of psychology, at noon on March 19 in the East Room of Burton Student Center.
April Scruggs, a registered nurse, will present ``Get Real - Straight Talk About Women's Health" at 7:30 p.m. on March 19 in Hopwood Hall Auditorium.
``Creativity and Spirituality - Celebrating the Artist in Each of Us'' will be held March 20 at 7 p.m. in the East Room of Burton Student Center.
``Reviving Ophelia,'' a discussion of Mary Pipher's book, will be held March 25 at 11:30 a.m. in the East Room, Burton Student Center. Participants are encouraged to read the book prior to the event.
``Gender Historical Voice: Argentine Women Writers of Today'' is the topic of a presentation by Eliana Hermann, assistant professor of foreign language. The talk will be held March 26 at noon in the East Room, Burton Student Center.
``Common Ground in the Abortion Conflict: An Evening of Exploration'' will be held March 28 at 7:30 p.m. in Hopwood Hall Auditorium.
