JAZZ AT EMORY & HENRY

Saxophonist J. Plunky Branch will appear in concert with his seven-piece band, Plunky & Oneness, at Emory & Henry College at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Wiley Hall auditorium.

The versatile musician performs jazz, rhythm and blues, African music and rap, including some of his own compositions. He has performed in clubs throughout the nation as well as in Ghana and Nigeria, East Africa, and has opened shows for Ray Charles, Patti LaBelle, the Pointer Sisters and others.

He is a two-time recipient of Jazz Fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, and has received tour support from the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation. Admission to the Emory concert is free.
