ROANOKE EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES INC. has elected the following board members and officers for 1996: Kenneth L. Harper, operations officer and board member; Craig D. McCown, captain; Carla Spencer, recruitment and retention officer; John M. Morgan, equipment officer; David C. Anderson, treasurer; Darrell Van-Ness, training officer; Cory Zimmerman, secretary; and Sidney F. Robertson, president and board chairman.

Douglas H. Hyre was elected to the board of directors along with Lewis W. Peery, Timothy L. Harper and Lisha Osborne.

THE BRAMBLETON JUNIOR WOMAN'S CLUB INC. has elected the following officers for 1996: Karen Nelson, president; Kelly Baker, first vice president; Diane Williams, second vice president; Barbara Swindell, third vice president; Dana Long, fourth vice president; Martha Farris, treasurer; and Carmen Martin, secretary.

THE YMCA OF ROANOKE VALLEY has elected officers and board members for 1996. J. Spencer Frantz is president. Other officers are: J. W. Kirk III, vice president; William O. Sparrow, secretary; and Frank Mayorshi, treasurer.

Those elected to three-year terms on the board of directors are: James Breakell, Paul Buford, H. Clarke Curtis, Charles Saldarini, Don Smith and Diane Strickland.

KAZIM ARAB PATROL has elected the following officers for 1996: Richard Deyerle, captain; Butch Campbell, first lieutenant; Rodger Wheeler, second lieutenant; James Duncan, sergeant; James Perdieu, quartermaster and Wayne Stanton, secretary.

ROBERTA McGUIRE of Salem has received the Grumbacher Award for outstanding achievement in acrylic painting.

McGuire, a member of the League of Roanoke Artists, won with her painting "Another View," an abstract representing the dichotomy of chaos and order in life.

Grumbacher manufactures artists' materials.

WELDON T. LAWRENCE has been elected president of the Virginia Museum of Transportation Inc. He succeeds James B. Evans. Other recently elected officers include: Mark T. Lawrence Jr., executive vice president; Jay Brenner, vice president, collections and exhibits; Frances Davis,vice president, finance and development; Lynn Meyer, vice president, volunteer relations; Eugene M. Elliott Jr., treasurer; Thomas A. Leggette, secretary.

Gerald W. Godsey, Maryellen F. Goodlatte, J. Granger Macfarlane, James W. Harkness, W.L. Neal, John W. Hancock Jr., W.G. Blades, Jim Molinary, L.A. Durham Jr., Samuel W. Putney III, and Richard Shell were elected to the board of directors.
