HALL ASSOCIATES INC.'S auction division recently earned first-place advertising honors in four categories at the 38th annual Virginia Auctioneers Association Convention. The awards were in the commercial and industrial two-three color, real estate four-color, estate four-color and audio-visual categories.
THOMAS W. CRAWFORD, formerly of Roanoke, has been named president and chief executive officer of Prudential Property and Casualty Co., based in Newark, N.J. Previously, Crawford was president and chief executive officer of Southern Heritage Co. in Atlanta, a company he organized and founded in 1984.
CARA SISSON, formerly of Roanoke, has been named executive director of Carolinas Concert Association in Charlotte, N.C. She graduated from Hollins College in 1989 and worked for several cultural organizations in the Roanoke Valley, including Mill Mountain Theatre, The Art Museum of Western Virginia and as an assistant to Victoria Bond, former music director and conductor of the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra.
QUALITY COFFEE CO. has broken ground for its new headquarters at 1512 Hollins Road. The company, which provides services for restaurants, hotels, convenience stores and offices, will move from the Roanoke Industrial Center where it has rented space for 15 years.
LITTLEPAGE BOLLING BRYANT, a sales representative for Birmingham, Ala.-based Abana Pharmaceuticals, has received the company's Best Attitude and Rookie of the Year awards. Bryant has been in sales for seven years and with Abana for 11/2 years in its Blue Ridge Region.
THE STATE BOARD OF ACCOUNTANCY at the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation has announced the Roanoke-area residents who passed the Uniform Certified Public Accountants examination in November.

JOHN MURPHY, a community planning technician with Roanoke County, and ROBERT LESLIE SR., chairman of the Botetourt County Planning Commission, were among those graduating from the Virginia Certified Planning Commissioners' program in December. The program is sponsored by the community resource development arm of the Extension Service at Virginia Tech and by the Virginia Citizens' Planning Association.
