Workers will begin construction in March on a bridge one mile south of the Roanoke County-Montgomery County line on northbound U.S. 11/460.
The Virginia Department of Transportation will supervise the $1.86 million project.
The bridge will be built parallel to the highway's southbound lanes, which will straighten the existing road. Motorists should use caution when driving through the construction zone, officials said.
