Staunton River took second place Saturday in the Group AA boys' indoor track meet at Heritage High School in Lynchburg.
The Golden Eagles finished with 64 points, 24 points behind meet champion Charlottesville.
Ronnie Goff of Staunton River won the 1000-yard run with a time of 2:27.6. Staunton River's 800- and 1600-meter relay teams also took first place in the competition.
Northside's Dee Shovely won the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.4 seconds. Christiansburg's relay team of Michael Lee, Robby Rakes, Zack Johnson and Dewayne Allen took first in 3200-meter relay.
Salem finished second overall in the girls' competition, finishing 81/2 points behind champion Appomattox.
Cynthia Lundstrom was the Spartans' lone winner, taking first in the 55-meter high hurdles. Emily Hollett of Northside won the high jump with leap of 5 feet, 4 inches.
