Sixteen children were shaken up when a car collided with their school bus about 7:35 a.m. Monday in Wytheville.
All of them were treated at Wythe County Community Hospital and released.
State police said the bus, driven by Debra Corvin, 41, of Wytheville, was traveling south on 12th Street when it collided with a car being driven east on Franklin Street by 28-year-old Robert Willis of Rural Retreat.
Trooper L.F. Valley charged Willis with reckless driving, until his car can be checked for mechanical defects that would have kept him from halting at the stop sign at 12th and Franklin.
Eleven children were taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries, and parents later brought in five more. None had to be admitted.
