WRIGHT ALL WRONG IN COLORADO LOSS

Colorado relief pitcher Jamey Wright got run over by a Deer on Friday. Rob Deer.

Wright, who played for Class A Salem (Va.) last season, gave up a two-run homer to Deer in the sixth inning as the San Diego Padres beat the Rockies 9-5 in a major-league baseball exhibition game.

Wright, the Rockies' No.1 draft pick in 1993, was tagged with the loss.

He gave up five runs (three earned) on three hits in 2 1/3 innings. He walked two and struck out one.

San Diego scored two runs in the fifth and three in the sixth off Wright.

The score was tied at 4 until the fifth inning.
