Franklin County Speedway will hold an open practice session from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday. Admission will be free for spectators, track owner Whitey Taylor said.
On Monday, FCS will sponsor a car show at Crossroads Mall. The show, which runs through March 29, will feature cars from all divisions, including Late Model Stocks and Modifieds.
Taylor also said FCS has added another Southern Modifieds Auto Racing Teams (SMART) event, giving the Callaway track four SMART dates this season. The dates are: April 20, July 4, Sept.21 and Oct.12.
The FCS season opener is April 6. All races in April will begin at 6 p.m.

The VMI basketball team will hold its annual awards banquet Friday at Cameron Hall in Lexington. A social will begin at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and an awards presentation at 6:30. The highlight video from this past season's 18-10 squad will be shown.
The banquet is open to the public, with a cost of $6.50. Reservations can be made by calling Brenda Wilhelm at the VMI basketball office at 540-464-7384.
The Virginia Tech-Richmond baseball game scheduled for Tuesday was postponed because of rain. A makeup date for the game has not been set. The Virginia Tech softball games against Hampton University scheduled for 2 p.m. today also have been postponed because of rain and have not been rescheduled yet.
Radford University's baseball game with Old Dominion on Tuesday was postponed because of rain. The Highlanders are scheduled to play East Tennessee State at 3 p.m. today at Dedmon Center Park.
Carolyn Bucher of Roanoke made the cut in the 500-yard freestyle at the Junior National Championships at the Centennial Sportsplex in Nashville, Tenn. Bucher had a split time of 4:59.15 as she finished 23rd out of 70 swimmers in the 1,000-yard freestyle in 10:10.40.
