MUSICAL EVENTS

The J. Eugene Young Mass Choir at Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1014 Norfolk Ave. S.W., plans its eighth annual Black and White Musical Sunday at 5 p.m. Those attending are invited to wear black and white clothing. Singing groups from Morning Star, Greater Mount Zion, Maple Street, Hill Street and First Baptist of Hollins churches as well as the host church will participate.

New Grace, a Southern gospel group, will perform March 30 at 7 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church in Buchanan. The program will benefit the weekday religious education classes, an ecumenical ministry of Botetourt County congregations.

Emmanuel Wesleyan Church, 402 Hershberger Road N.W., has scheduled the male trio Brian Free and Assurance on Sunday at 10:55 a.m. The concert is free.

The Bridgewater College Choir will sing March 31 at 11 a.m. at Peters Creek Church of the Brethren, 5325 Cove Road N.W. The choir will perform choral, handbell and instrumental selections. SPECIAL EVENTS

An Easter Open House is planned Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Catholic Historical Society building at 624 N. Jefferson St.

The Missionary District Bible School Convention of Southwest Virginia will hold its annual session Friday and Saturday at Shiloh Baptist Church in Salem. The Rev. Herman Word Sr., pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church, will deliver the annual sermon on Saturday.

Promise Keepers, a national Christian men's movement to promote personal responsibiltiy in work and family, will sponsor a gathering Saturday from 9 until 11 a.m. OUTREACH

Greene Memorial United Methodist Church and Northview United Methodist Church of Hollins are supporting a medical mission couple, Dave and Lidia Jensen, who operate a family practice clinic in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.
