Paula Weishoff, who will be competing in her third Olympics this summer as a member of the U.S. volleyball team, will be the guest speaker Monday at the next meeting of the Roanoke Valley Sports Club.
The meeting will be held at the Salem Civic Center, with a social at 5:30 p.m. and dinner at 6.
Weishoff, 34, competed in the 1988 and 1992 Games as a middle blocker. She was named the outstanding player in the 1992 Games. Weishoff played in the pro volleyball league in Japan last season and led her team to the title while winning league MVP honors.
The U.S. team will face Russia in an exhibition at the Roanoke Civic Center on April 19 at 7:30 p.m.
Cost to attend the meeting is $10 for Sports Club members and $15 for their guests. Reservations must be made by Thursday. For more information, call Dan Wooldridge at 389-7373.
