The Coalition for AIDS AwaReness at Virginia Tech (CAARVT) is sponsoring the second annual New River Valley AIDS Walk on Saturday. The walk begins at 2 p.m. in front of the Squires Student Center and will proceed three miles through downtown Blacksburg.
A pre-walk celebration with music and entertainment will begin at 12 p.m. on the lawn of Virginia Tech's Alumni Hall. New River Valley organizations will have information booths set up to distribute information and answer questions.
The walks are held each year to raise awareness about the AIDS virus in the New River Valley.
Participants ask for sponsors who will donate money. The funds raised will go to the New River Valley AIDS Coalition, an organization that services community members with the virus.
For more information on participating in the walk, contact Andrea Kanabar at 552-6906.
