Computer maker NEC Technologies Inc. will close its Northborough, Mass., plant, a move that will cost 500 full-time and part-time employees their jobs.
The company said Tuesday the facility, which produces NEC's entire U.S. desktop computer line, would be shuttered in the next six months. NEC said it would be cheaper to contract production of desktop PCs to other companies.
