Roanoke general contractor J.M. Turner & Co. Inc. has announced several staff changes. The company has promoted STEPHEN DOYLE II from assistant vice president to vice president of the company. Doyle, who has been with J.M. Turner for 17 years, is head of the contract administration department.
DAVID TRIVETTE, who is a project manager, has been promoted to assistant vice president. He has been with J.M. Turner for 11 years.
DOUG CHILDRESS, who has been working in the estimating department for 10 years, also has been promoted to assistant vice president.
ANDY CAUDLE joined the company in October as an estimator. He comes from Blue Ridge Cellular Inc. in Christiansburg
ARCHITECTS AND ENGINEERS
JOHN P. WHITTLE, president of Thor Inc., general contractors and engineers in Roanoke, has been named a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
STEVEN STARNES, VAN COBLE, DAVID GIBSON and JOHN M. WILLIAMS have joined Thompson + Litton, an engineering, architectural and planning firm in Tazewell. Starnes and Coble are working in the firm's architectural division. Gibson is a construction administrator, and Williams works in the firm's engineering division.
BANKING
JAMES A. CHAPMAN has joined The Bank of Floyd as vice president and chief financial officer. He comes to the bank from First American Federal Savings Bank in Bristol, where he was controller for five years.
JOHN E. "ED" STRINGER has been elected to the board of directors of The Bank of Marion, where he is executive vice president. He has been employed at the bank's main office since 1980.
COMMUNICATIONS
MICHAEL L. FRANCISCO and ROBERT OTTAVIANI have joined OneStar Long Distance Inc. in Roanoke as communications consultants. Francisco previously was a corporate recruiter and sales manager for Capital Development Inc. in St. Albans, W.Va. Ottaviani formerly was employed by GTE Mobilnet as an account executive. Indiana-based OneStar, previously Telstar Communications, is a reseller of long-distance communications.
INVESTMENT BANKING
ELIZABETH M. SKROVANEK of Roanoke has been selected to lead Dun & Bradstreet's Receivable Management Services for Southwestern Virginia and West Virginia. Before joining Dun & Bradstreet, she worked with Merrill Lynch and also was a senior financial analyst statistical accountant and actuarial benefits consultant.

MARYELLEN F. GOODLATTE has been made a name partner in the Roanoke law firm now known as Glenn, Feldmann, Darby & Goodlatte. She has been with the firm for 13 years and has practiced commercial and real estate law for 18 years. In 1984, she was made a full partner of the firm. Goodlatte is on the board of directors of the Roanoke Bar Association.
