Cochran-Roberts

Tonja Lynn Roberts of Roanoke, formerly of Martinsville, Va., and Preston Scott Cochran of Roanoke, Va., were married April 20, 1996, in Catawba, Va., at the home of the groom's parents. Rev. Chuck Ward of First Baptist Church of Roanoke officiated. The reception was held at the home of the groom's parents. The matron of honor was Mrs. Mary Lawrence of Sm ith Mt. Lake, Va., friend of bride. Bride attendant was Miss Dameron Ewell of Roanoke, cousin of the groom. William N. Cochran, father of the groom, served as best man. The bride was escorted by Mr. Foster Vaught of Roanoke, friend of the bride. Ms. Darla Drotar of Roanoke attended the guestbook. The bride wore a white satin gown with a Queen Anne neckline and long fitted sleeves. The bodice was accented with alencon lace, reembroidered pearls and clear sequins with pearl buttons down the back of the gown with a floor length full skirt and chapel length train with alencon lace appliques. The headpiece was a wreath of silk flowers with two tiers of pencil edge illusion. She carried a bouquet of spring flowers in a cascade arrangement. The bride is the daughter of Ms. Betty M. Roberts of Martinsville, Va. She graduated from Martinsville High School and attended National Business College and Patrick Henry Community College in Martinsville. She is employed by Newbern-Trane of Roanoke, Va. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William N. Cochran of Catawba, Va. He graduated from William Fleming High School and from Ferrum College in Ferrum, Va. He is employed by Corning, Inc. of Blacksburg. The newlyweds will live in Roanoke after a wedding trip to Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Special thanks to Richie and Mary Lawrence for all their help, love and support. We appreciate all you both did! We especially want to thank our parents, Betty, Katherine and Bill for making our wedding day so beautiful and letting us have the special day we wanted. We love you all.

Cromer-Tuck

Anita Rae Tuck and Jonathan Randolph Cromer were united in marriage on April 20, 1996 at Palestine Baptist Church in Huddleston, Va. Rev. Chris Fowler and Rev. Bud Lemon officiated the ceremony.

The matron of honor was Sharon Dinnwiddie, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were Robyn Tuck, Stephanie Tuck and Nicole Lloyd, all sisters-in-law of the bride; and Sandi Beckstoffer, long time friend.

The best man, father of the groom, was Randy Cromer. The groomsmen were Mark VanLear, cousin of the groom; Sam Lloyd, brother-in-law of the groom; Matt Phillips, brother of the groom; and Jon Stewart, long time friend.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ellis L. Tuck of Huddleston, Va. She is a graduate of the College of Health Sciences of Roanoke and is employed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner at Community Hospital of Roanoke.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Phillips of Christiansburg and Mr. and Mrs. Randy Cromer of Floyd. He is a graduate of Virginia Tech and is employed by First Union National Bank as a Branch Service Manager in Roanoke.

Following the wedding trip to Cozumel, Mexico, the couple will reside in Vinton, Va.

Dunnaville-Weaver

Kimberly Michelle Weaver and George Ricardo Dunnaville were married April 9, 1996, in Butner, North Carolina. Chaplain David Morton officiated the ceremony. The matron of honor was Linda Dunnaville, mother-in law. Best man was George Dunnaville, father. The bride is the daughter of William and Linda Weaver, Roanoke. She graduated from Patrick Henry High School. The groom is the son of George and Linda Dunnaville, Roanoke. He graduated from Patrick Henry High School. The newlyweds will live in Roanoke

Gray-Forbes

BUCHANAN, VA - Barbara (Barbie) Elaine Forbes and Joshua (Josh) Aaron Gray were married on Saturday, April 6, 1996, at Buchanan Baptist Church. The Reverend Michael Woody officiated at the double ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Paul and Betty Forbes of Buchanan, Va. Grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Broughman of Buchanan, Va., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul O. Forbes of Bedford, Va. Great-grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Bob Link of Buchanan, Va. The godmother is Mrs. Della Hylton of Buchanan, Va.

The bridegroom is the son of Greg and Sandra Gray of Buchanan, Va., and Linda and Paul Hickman of Shawsville, Va. Grandparents are Walter and Kathleen Gray of Elliston, Va., Layman Williamson and the late Mary Frances Williamson of Blue Ridge, Va., Mr. and Mrs. Ed Vassar of Buchanan, Va., and Mrs. Athenia Hickman of Shawsville, Va.

A program of wedding music was provided by Stephen Harris, pianist, organist and soloist, of Buchanan, Va.

Miss Debbie Long of Buchanan, Va., sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Mary Jane Lester of Surfside Beach, S. C., au nt of the bride, and Miss Jackie Johnson of Eagle Rock, Va., friend of the bride. Wedding attendants' dresses were made by Pat Williams of Buchanan, Va. The flower girls were Courtney Forbes, Kernesville, N. C., and Crystal Bugner, New Providence, Penn., nieces of the bride. Ring bearer was Jordan Spangler of Roanoke, Va., cousin of the groom.

Mr. Greg Gray of Buchanan, Va., father of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Billy Gray and Mr. Dennis Gray of Elliston, Va., uncles of the groom.

The guestbook attendant was Mrs. Anne Rodwell of Blue Ridge, Va., friend of the bride. Jason Brougham of Troutville, Va., cousin of the bride was the program attendant. Mrs. Susan Ayers of Buchanan, Va., directed the wedding. The wedding portraits were taken by Barry Brooks Photography of Vinton, Va. Wedding and reception pictures were taken by John Spencer of Surfside Beach, S. C., and Bobby Huffman of Troutville, Va. Videos were taken by John Martell of Roanoke, Va., and Paul Hickman of Shawsville, Va.

The bride wore an elegant ivory sheath of Dupioni silk. The gown featured an off-the-shoulder neckline and long sleeves. Silk rosettes adorned the neckline and motifs of embroidered silk roses and pearls were scattered on the gown. The detachable train was cathedral length. The gown was from Virginia Bridal Outlet of Roanoke, Va. She carried a cascading bouquet of peach and ivory roses, mini carnations, baby's breath and trailing ivy. Flowers were from Cahoon's Florist, Fincastle, Va.

Following the ceremony, limos from Roanoke Regional Airport Limousine Service transported the wedding party to the reception given by her parents at the Lord Botetourt Room at Best Western Coachman Inn in Daleville, Va.

The wedding cake was made by the groom's mother. The reception was catered by Vicki Eubank. Servers were Ann Layman, friend of the bride, Pam Spangler, cousin of the groom, Marie McDaniel, aunt of the groom, and Betty Gross, sister-in-law to the groom's aunt. After the reception a limo took the wedding party back to Buchanan, Va.

The bride is a graduate of James River High School and National Travel School, Uniontown, Penn. She was front desk supervisor at Best Western Coachman Inn at Daleville, Va.

The groom is a graduate of James River High School and is an ENFN of the United States Navy stationed at San Diego, Calif.

After a cross-country honeymoon trip, the couple will reside in El Cajon, Calif.

Hinterschied-Teel

Alice Merle Teel and Michael Joseph Hinterschied were married April 13, 1996 in North Atlanta Church of Christ. Dr. Ray Hawkins officiated.

Horsley-Lambert

Carolyn Sue Lambert and Arnold Stevens Horsley were married March 29, 1996, with the Rev. Phil Day officiating. The reception was held at Gordis Horsley's home.

The bride is the daughter of Basil Trivette of Peterstown, W.Va. She is a graduate of Peterstown High School and is employed by Saslows. The groom is the son of Abe and Gordis Horsley of Roanoke, Va. He is a graduate of Cave Spring High School.

Lytton-Sowers

Jo Ann Sowers of Christiansburg, Va., and Larry Lytton of Dublin, Va., were married April 6, 1996, at Pigeon Forge, Tenn. Jo Ann is the daughter of Gertrude Sowers and the late Paul E. Sowers of Christiansburg, Va. Larry is the son of Morris and Louise Lytton of Walton. The couple will live in Christiansburg, Va.

Morris-Dudley

Cindy Leigh Dudley and Jason Todd Morris were united in marriage in a private ceremony on February 24, 1996. They reaffirmed those vows on April 6, 1996 at 7:00 p.m. at The Thrasher Memorial United Methodist Church, the Rev. William Anthony Layman officiating, for family and close friends.

Tracy Dudley was her sister's maid of honor. The groom's father, Larry Mattox, was the best man. Jenna Mattox, sister of the groom, lighted the candles. Manda Wheeler, friend of the bride, attended the guestbook. The bridal portraits were done by Barry Brooks Photography.

A reception followed the ceremony in the Church Social Hall.

The bride is the daughter of Barry and Teresa Dudley of Vinton.

The groom is the son of Larry and Carol Mattox, also of Vinton.

The couple will make their home in Jacksonville, Florida, where the groom is serving in the Navy.

Jason and Cindy would like to thank both their families for making their day special.

Owens-Robertson

Anna Wade Robertson and Anthony Vaughn Owens were married Saturday, March 30, in Roanoke. The couple celebrated their wedding day with friends and family at a champagne brunch hosted by Rebecca Smith of Pittsboro, North Carolina, aunt of the bride, at the home of the bride's mother.

The bride is the daughter of Judy DeWitt Robertson of Roanoke, and T. Carlisle Robertson of Richmond, and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis C. DeWitt of Roanoke, and Mrs. Gladys Collins Robertson of Chesterfield. The groom is the son of Teresa and Kenneth Misco of Roanoke, and Vaughn S. Owens of Swords Creek, and the grandson of Mrs. Annie Shelton of Richlands, and Mrs. Cora Owens and the late Mr. Cooge Owens of Swords Creek.

The newlyweds are residing in Abingdon.

Poff-Webster

Elizabeth Anne Webster and Douglas Lee Poff were married April 20, 1996 in an evening candlelit ceremony in St. John's Episcopal Church. The Rev. Lottie Cochran was the officiating clergyman. The reception was held at the Patrick Henry Hotel.

Elisabeth Parker, sorority sister, was the maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Angie Summerfield, sorority sister; and Olena Wengryn, college friend. The junior bridesmaids were sisters of the bride, Ashley and Jennifer Webster. Magan Reedy, cousin, was the flowergirl.

Aaron Cook, friend, was the best man. The ushers were Carl Gilbert and A. J. Gamble, friends; and Brad Myers, bride's cousin.

The bride wore an ivory shantung silk. short sleeved, A-line gown. It featured an appliqued bodice decorated with pearls and sequins. She wore a detachable chapel length train. She carried a cascade of Casablanca Lilies, Peach Roses and Tulips, Stephanotis and Ivy.

The bride is the daughter of David and Sandra Webster of Roanoke. She is a graduate of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, and is employed by Wachovia Operational Services in Atlanta. The groom is the son of Robert and Irene Poff of Louisville, Ky. He is a graduate of Longwood College in Farmville, Va. and is employed by Donovan and Devlin Investigations in Atlanta.

After the wedding trip to Braco Village, Jamaica, the newlyweds will live in Atlanta, Georgia.

Scott-Payne

In a five o'clock candlelight wedding ceremony, Saturday, March 30, 1996 at Airlee Baptist Church, Angela M. Payne became the bride of Ronald E. Scott, Jr. Reverend John J. Hamric officiated the double ring ceremony. The reception was held at the Holiday Inn-Airport.

Traditional wedding music was rendered by Elizabeth Dechent, harpist, and Alicia Hugo, flutist, both members of the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra.

The bride is the daughter of Susanne Payne of Roanoke and William E. Payne of Vinton. She is a graduate of William Byrd High School, attended Virginia Western Community College of Roanoke, and is employed at First Union National Bank.

The groom is the son of Mr. Ronald E. Scott, Sr. and Mrs. B. Fay Scott of Fincastle. He is a graduate of James River High School and Vice President of Scott/Gallaher of Cloverdale.

The bride, escorted by her father, wore a gown of imported satin with a cathedral train highlighted in beaded satin. She carried a Victorian style bouquet of white roses.

The maid of honor was Amy Lee Aker and the bridesmaids were Jennifer Skull, Ashley Aker and Kimberly Jennings, friends of the bride. All wore identical long, pale gold gowns of satin.

The flowergirl was Holly Souther of Spartar, North Carolina, cousin of the bride. Guest register attendant was Crystal Simpson of Roanoke, also a friend of the bride.

The best man was the groom's father. The groomsmen were Steve W. Stevens and Steve Stultz, friends of the groom; and Jeffery Scott, brother of the groom.

The couple resides at Smith Mtn. Lake after spending their honeymoon in Scandals, Negril, Jamicia.

Vest-Dalton

Julie Lynn Dalton and Timothy Wayne Vest were married April 20, 1996, in Starling Avenue Baptist Church, Martinsville, Va., with Doctor David W. Adleins officiating. The reception was held in The Parish House, Martinsville. The matron of honor was Mrs. Leesa D. McGregor of Boston, Mass., sister of bride. Bridesmaids were Miss Donna Spraker of Roanoke, and Miss Robin Young of Baltimore, Md., friends of bride. Mr. T. R. Vest of Check, Va., father of groom, served as best man. Ushers were Mr. Robert Walker, Roanoke, Va., friend, and Mr. Tony Vest, Check, Va., brother of groom. The bride wore a formal gown of embroidered silk muted peach color with semi-formal train and fingertip veil of illusion. She carried a bouquet of roses and orchids. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry F. Dalton, Jr., Martinsville, Va. She graduated from Martinsville High School, Martinsville, Va., and from Hollins College, Roanoke, Va. She is employed by Osterhaudt Ferguson, Natt, et al, Attorneys, Roanoke. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thurman Ray Vest, Check, Va. He graduated from Floyd High School and from Virginia Western Comm. College, Roanoke. He is employed by Shenandoah Life Insurance Company of Roanoke. The newlyweds will live in Salem, Va., after a cruise to the western Caribbean.

Wood-Rader

Sherry Marie Rader and Thomas E. Wood Jr. were married April 6, 1996 on the Virginia Dare paddlewheel boat on Smith Mountain Lake with the Reverend Glen Stevens officiating. The reception followed which included a 2-hour cruise around the lake.

Maid of honor was Ms. Veronica Hyatt, friend of the bride. Flower girl was Miss Brittany Wood, niece of the groom. Accompanying the bride was Miss Angel Rader, her niece.

Best man was Mr. Mike Bryant, friend of the groom. The groom's son, Mr. Mike Wood, accompanied his father at the altar. Ring bearer was Mr. Allan Rader, nephew of the bride.

The guest book was attended by Miss Ann Spradlin. Song selections were done by Mr. Gene Preston.

The groom is employed by Estes Express Lines, Roanoke, Va. The bride is employed by Martin Transport Co., Inc., Roanoke, Va. The couple will make their home in Hardy, Va. following a honeymoon in the Gulf of Mexico.
