Radford's Kelly Dampeer was the lone Radford player named to the Big South All-Conference baseball team. The shortstop, a former Northside standout, was selected to the first team.
Winthrop first baseman Jeremy Keller was named league MVP. He led the Eagles with a .396 batting average, 14 home runs and 58 RBI.
Randy Mazey of Charleston Southern was chosen coach of the year after leading his team to the school's first conference championship and first NCAA Tournament appearance.
UNC-Greensboro pitcher Jonathan Jackson was selected rookie of the year.

nThe University of Virginia golf team fell two spots on Friday and now stands in a tie for 15th at the NCAA East Regional Tournament at the Monston Course in Kiamesha Lake, N.Y.
The Cavaliers, tied with ACC rival Duke, have a two-round total of 614. N.C. State continues to hold the lead with a total of 593. Lewis Chitengwa is Virginia's low man. He is tied for 11th with a 5-over par 149. (Complete scores in Scoreboard. B4)
PREPS Byrd, Salem to meet for district title
William Byrd and Salem picked up wins in the semifinals of the Blue Ridge District boys' soccer tournament to advance to the championship.
Michael Berry scored two goals as William Byrd defeated Northside 6-0. The Terriers led 1-0 at halftime but scored five unanswered goals in the second half to seal the win.
Six players scored as Salem downed Alleghany 6-1. Nebiyu Naod scored the lone goal for Alleghany.
The final will be played today at noon.
nMike Johnson went 2-for-3 with two RBI and Dusty Patterson went 3-for-3 with an RBI to lift Lord Botetourt past Northside 6-5 in a Blue Ridge District baseball tournament quarterfinal game in Daleville.
Johnson's RBI single in the sixth gave the Cavaliers a 6-4 lead. The Vikings scored a run in the seventh on Jason Sheetz's RBI single, but left runners at first and third to end the game.
David Leonard got the win for the Cavaliers, going five innings and giving up two hits while walking four and striking out seven. The Cavaliers meet top-seeded William Byrd in the semifinals Monday at 11 a.m. at old Municipal Stadium.
Jamie Nicely hit two home runs, one to tie the score and another that gave Rockbridge County the go-ahead run as the Wildcats came from behind to beat Alleghany 4-1 in another quarterfinal.
Alleghany took a 1-0 lead in the top of the sixth but Nicely tied the score in the bottom of the inning with a solo shot. Nicely then hit the winning run in the top of the ninth as Rockbridge added three more runs for the final margin.
Greg Stubblefield held the Mountaineers to three hits to pick up the win.
nLisa Baetz went 4-for-4 with a double, triple and three RBI to help North Cross down Virginia Episcopal 23-7 in a Blue Ridge Conference softball tournament quarterfinal game at North Cross.
Bette Kaufman was 3-for-4 with three RBI for North Cross (11-5), which will play Lynchburg Christian in a semifinal today at 9:30 a.m. at River's Edge.
ETC. RiverDawgs change opponent
Because of a scheduling change, the Roanoke RiverDawgs will play host to the Under-23 Falcons from Northern Virginia tonight at Cave Spring Junior High School. Game time is 7:30.
The RiverDawgs have added two players to their roster, Andy Kwon and Mike Dunne, both from Duke University. Jeff Wilson suffered a knee injury against the Carolina Dynamo last Saturday and is listed day to day.
nRoanoke will be the site today of the Virginia State Women's Bowling Association annual convention. Delegates will elect their officers and the annual state tournament, which has been held in Roanoke for the past seven weekends, will welcome extra squads for bowling tonight at Lee-Hi Lanes and Hilltop Lanes.
nThe Mid-Atlantic modified tour will once again roar through the hills of the New River Valley Speedway on Sunday for the first of two touring dates when the green flag falls for the Rockford Sales/Q-99 WSLC 200.
The New River Valley Speedway also will have its regular 100-lap Late Model race along with a 35-lap Limited Sportsman, 25-lap Pure Stock and 25-lap Mini-Stock race. A kids big wheel race will also be held.
Gates will open at 10 a.m., practice is at 12 p.m. and the green flag falls at 4 p.m.
The third annual Special Interest Cars car and truck show will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. today. The show is open to all makes and model vehicles.
