Two Ferrum players earned first-team spots on the American Baseball Coaches Association NCAA Division III All-America team announced Wednesday.
Jimmy Hamilton, a native of Weyers Cave, was one of five pitchers on the first team and David Jones was the first-team second baseman.
Hamilton was 12-2 with two saves, a 2.73 ERA and 118 strikeouts for the Panthers. Jones, a Stuart native, batted .387 with 41 RBI and 22 stolen bases.
The Panthers advanced to the finals of the South Region before losing to Methodist, which plays in the Division III World Series this week in Salem.
Emory & Henry catcher Jared Beck was a second-team selection after batting
Joe Thomas, a first baseman/pitcher for Marietta (Ohio), was named player of the year.
