Jesus on Saturday. Some 800 people marched, not to protest anything,
but to publicly display their belief in Jesus Christ. The marchers
sang in unison with songs played on Spirit FM (103.7), a local
Christian radio station. At right, Scott Harvey sings. The march was
held on the streets of the Lincoln Terrace apartments. After the
march, a rally was held in Washington Park. The March for Jesus
began in 1987, when Christian musician Graham Kendrick marched and
sang down the streets of London. The event reached the United States
in 1990 and is scheduled to continue until June 2000. color
