COLLEGE NOTES

ABRINA MARIE SCHNURMAN of Roanoke was elected to membership in the Epsilon chapter of Phi Beta Kappa at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Schnurman is a senior majoring in psychology and is a university marshal and a member of Psi Chi national psychology honor society. Students are elected to Phi Beta Kappa on the basis of their academic achievements in the liberal arts and sciences during their undergraduate years at UNCG.

THERESA HARPOLD, daughter of Lynne and Mike Kirby of Roanoke County, received a doctor of medicine degree from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond.

Harpold is a 1986 graduate of Cave Spring High School and a 1992 graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University.

EMORY & HENRY COLLEGE recently named its spring semester graduates.

Those from Roanoke are Michael Wayne Brookman Jr., Suzanne Britt Luther, Melissa Anne Mitchell, Geoffrey Jason Pendleton, Stacy LeAn Smith, Andrea Nicole Herron and Kristi Lyn Glass.

DAVID MORAN SCHLEUPNER, son of Dr. and Mrs. Charles J. Schleupner of Roanoke, recently graduated from Duke University in Durham N.C., with a bachelor of science degree.

JENNIFER CLAIRE WAYBRIGHT, daughter of Charles and Nancy Waybright of Roanoke, graduated from the University of Virginia with a bachelor of science degree in nursing.

She is a 1992 graduate of William Fleming High School and CITY School.

ERNEST CLARK JR., son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Clark of Roanoke, has been named to the dean's honor list for the 1996 winter quarter at Cedarville College in Ohio.

He is a sophomore Bible major and a 1994 graduate of Roanoke Valley Christian High School.

LAURA NEELY ROSEBRO of Roanoke received a master of social work degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. She is a 1992 graduate of Radford University and attended Cave Spring High School.

Rosebro plans to pursue her Virginia licensure as a clinical social worker.

AMANDA ELIZABETH WIMMER of Roanoke received a master's in business administration from The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

DANIEL ROLAND JOHNSON, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Johnson Jr. of Roanoke, received a bachelor of arts degree in liberal arts from Bryan College in Dayton, Tenn.

AMANDA LEA BELANGER of Roanoke was one of 11 students inducted into the Virginia Intermont College chapter of the national business honor society Sigma Beta Delta.

KELLY ANN LEWIS, daughter of John and Sandra Lewis of Roanoke, was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma national honor business society at James Madison University in Harrisonburg.

JENNIFER SUSANNA STARNES, daughter of Patsy Starnes of Vinton, recently graduated from the University of Tennessee. She received a bachelor of arts degree in holistic teaching and will begin graduate school at the university in June.

She is a 1992 graduate of William Byrd High School.
