The Roanoke Firefighters Association is accepting donations for the family of 4-year-old Robert Thomas Blevins, who died Monday after he was hit by a car in front of his Northeast Roanoke Home.
A family friend said the Blevins' insurance did not cover the boy's funeral expenses, which total about $6,000.
Tracy Blevins, Robert's father, works at the airport fire station.
Checks made out to the Roanoke Firefighters Association Blevins Fund can be sent to the attention of Chuck Wells at Fire Station No.2, 55 Noble Ave., Roanoke 24012.
