CHRISTIANSBURG - The members of the Board of Directors of First National Bank, elected at the June 11 shareholder meeting in Blacksburg, are:

* W.N. Ridinger, former owner and consultant pharmacist at Thompson-Hagan Drug, chairman.

* James L. Hutton, attorney, vice chairman.

* Samuel H. Tollison, president and chief executive officer.

* Kendall O. Clay, attorney.

* Archie E. Cromer Jr., president of Arcnel Corp.

* Daniel Hamrick, attorney.

* Julian D. "Danny" Hardy, executive vice president and chief administrative officer.

* Carl N. McNeil, McNeil Real Estate.

* Joan H. Munford, owner/advisor, HCMF Corp.

* William M. Sterrett Jr., president, Blacksburg Transfer and Storage.

* Robert J. Styne, former employee of Hercules.

* Nelson J. Wimmer, vice president of S.G. Wimmer & Son.

Ocie McNeil, a 38-year bank employee, received the President's Award, and Sharon Barker, a 10-year employee, received the Eagle Award for quality costumer service and dedication.

The 90-year-old, locally owned bank had assets of $364 million at the end of the first quarter in 1996. Year-to-date earnings as of March 31 were up 23.5 percent, to $1.342 million.

Inland Motor wins|

for school work|

RADFORD - Inland Motor has been selected as a 1996 Business and Industry Partnership winner by the Virginia Council on Vocational Education for the company's work with the Radford School system.

Since beginning its partnership with Radford in 1984, Inland Motor has held plant tours for vocational and academic classes; welcomed vocational faculty for demonstrations of office and plant technology; provided guest speakers and employees to serve on advisory committees and judges at contests and fairs; helped students find part-time jobs; and established an annual scholarship for a Radford High School graduate.

Inland Motor is a maker of a variety of motors and electronic products for commercial, military and aerospace use. The company employs about 700 people at its two locations in Radford.
