JOHN B. ROBERTSON has been elected president of James B. Robertson Inc., trading in Roanoke as Terminix Co. He succeeds his father, JAMES B. ROBERTSON, who has owned and operated the pest control company since 1950.
DONALD J. NUGENT JR. has been appointed manager of the Lynchburg branch of Terminix. He comes to the post with nine years of experience with Terminix in Long Island, N.Y.
WILLIAM J. NUNNENKAMP has joined the Roanoke office as regional sales manager. He has worked in various other Terminix offices.
Terminix has offices in 29 counties in western Virginia.
BANKING
MARY P. GILL HUNDLEY has been named mortgage loan officer for Valley Bank in Roanoke. She has worked in the lending department of the bank since it opened in 1995.
EDUCATION
CYNDY ESAU, a speech and language pathologist for Roanoke City Public Schools, has been elected president of the SLP Network, a professional organization in the Roanoke Valley for speech and language pathologists, for a two-year term.

RANDOLPH C. "RANDY" BELL has joined First American Corp.'s AmeriStar Investments and Trust division in the Tri-Cities area of Tennessee as vice president of personal trust services.
Bell previously was a special agent for the Prudential Preferred Financial Services and a registered representative for Pruco Securities Corp. in Roanoke for 20 years.

JOE WALDIN has been hired as account executive for the Roanoke office of Landis & Gyr. Waldin joined the company in 1989 and formerly worked in the Memphis, Tenn., office. Landis & Gyr designs, manufactures and installs heating, ventilating and air conditioning control systems. The company also provides service for technical building systems and overall facility management.

JOHN H. YOUNG has been appointed manager of Modern Woodmen of America's Virginia West agency in Roanoke. Young joined the fraternal life insurance society in 1977 and most recently was district manager in the Texas Southeast agency.

FRANKLIN G. FLIPPIN, a partner in the Roanoke law firm Flippin, Densmore, Morse, Rutherford & Jessee, has been elected chairman of the executive committee of the Virginia Bar Association for 1996, president-elect in 1997, and president of the association in 1998.
ELIZABETH K. DILLON of Roanoke has been elected chairman of the Virginia State Bar's Conference of Local Bar Associations' 1996-1997 executive committee. Dillon, a senior attorney in the law firm of Woods, Rogers & Hazlegrove, is a member of the Roanoke/New River Valley Chapter of the Virginia Women Attorneys Association.
CAMBRAI SHIREEN KIRK of Flippin, Densmore, Morse, Rutherford & Jessee has been chosen president-elect of the Virginia State Bar's Young Lawyers Conference. Also from Roanoke, JOHN CHADWICK JOHNSON of Gentry Locke Rakes & Moore will represent the organization's eighth district on the YLC board of governors.
NONPROFITS
ALAN BRITTLE has been named executive director of Ronald McDonald House of Southwest Virginia, a Roanoke facility providing accommodations for families of seriously ill patients in nearby hospitals. In addition to the responsibilities of managing the house, he will oversee the establishment of Ronald McDonald Charities. Brittle, a former Roanoke County supervisor, previously was executive director of Literacy Volunteers of America Roanoke Valley.
REAL ESTATE
ERNEST J. HUBBLE JR. has joined Boone and Co. as a residential sales agent at the company's Hollins office. He was employed in the trust department of Dominion Bank and later First Union National Bank of Virginia for more than 20 years.
