          during the 71st annual pony roundup and swim Wednesday. About 210 
          ponies - including some young ones that had to be driven in trucks -
          made the crossing. This month marks what would have been the 50th 
          birthday of the pony that was the model for the novel ``Misty of 
          Chincoteague.'' The fire department auctions the foals each year to 
          raise money.
