Barrow's, an office furniture retailer, will move to 1302 Rockland Ave. N.W., Collegiate Pacific's old headquarters.
Collegiate Pacific, a screenprinter of pennants, banners and sportswear, moved in July to Luck Avenue S.W. behind the Jefferson Center.
The building on Rockland Avenue was purchased from Littlefield Adams & Co. of Sturgeon Bay, Wis., by 5 W Partnership. William Poe of Waldvogel, Poe and Cronk Real Estate Group Inc., who represented Littlefield Adams, said the price was $664,500. The property includes eight acres.
Littlefield Adams was the parent company of Collegiate Pacific.
Collegiate Pacific's managers bought the company last September after Littlefield Adams decided to close the operation. The purchase, under the name Wool Felt Products Inc., saved more than 20 jobs of Collegiate Pacific's work force of 40.
The owners of Barrow's, Michael Turner and Sue Thompson, also own 5 W Partnership.
Turner said Barrow's will move in mid-October from its leased site on Lee Highway. In the interim, the owners will renovate the property.
The move was prompted by the rapid growth of Barrow's, which tripled its sales last year, Turner said.
The Rockland Avenue building is only a little bigger, Turner said, but the layout is better for Barrow's purposes.
