QUIET TIME WITH PAW-PAW

LENGTH: Short : 24 lines
ILLUSTRATION: PHOTO: DON PETERSEN Staff. Woodrow Bryant cradles his grandson,

Joe-Joe Eller, 3, who lost his right foot last month in a lawn mower

accident. Bryant, 76, saved Joe-Joe's life by wrapping the boy's leg

in a tourniquet and holding it above his head to stop the bleeding.

Joe-Joe returned home Saturday and has received a wheelchair, a pair

of crutches, a hospital bed, his first prosthesis and toys as

donations. "He's doing fantastic," Bruce Eller, Joe-Joe's father,

said. In his wheelchair, "he's going for strolls up and down the

road. He thinks it's a race car." color.
