LITTLE WHITE LIES

Have you ever lied about your weight, given your English teacher the ``I have laryngitis'' excuse because your speech wasn't ready (I did, and it worked - back then) or sworn to your parents (or the American public) you never inhaled?

Or told any other ``little white lies''?

Though honesty might be the best policy, dishonesty might win you a color TV. The people who bring you those milk mustache ads (No wonder you never became famous - you wiped them off on your sleeve!) are looking for the most original white lie.

Entries (100 words or less) can be phoned (1-800-WHY-MILK) or logged in (http://www.whymilk.com) through Oct. 15.

The winner will be announced on Election Day - in honor of George Washington (who really didn't say ``I cannot tell a lie'' in the cherry-tree fiasco) and the other forked-tongued speakers who've lived in the White House.

You can also win the privilege of not having to file income taxes for the next 10 years.

Oops! I just told a whopper!
