SINKHOLE FIXED; INTERSTATE OPEN

Both southbound lanes of Interstate 81 at the site of a sinkhole in Augusta County are now open.

Work crews finished repairing the 35-foot sinkhole, between mile markers 209 and 210, about 10:15 p.m. Friday.

The sinkhole, on the left shoulder, forced the closing of the southbound lanes earlier in the week.
