CARUCCI, Helen Toth, 76, of Blacksburg, died Sunday, October 20, 1996, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony ``Tony'' Carucci; two brothers, John and Julia Toth; and two sisters, Pearl Melfa and Mary Hillard. Mrs. Carucci is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Rosemary and Robert Goss, Blacksburg; two sisters, Rosie Joy, Miami, Fla., Ethel Markham, Lake Placid, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 23, 1996, at 11 a.m. at the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel, Blacksburg, with the Rev. Bob Link officiating. CONNER, William C. Jr., 56, of 326 Glenwood Drive, Ambridge, Pa., died on Sunday, October 6, 1996, in the Sewic kley Valley Hospital following a heart attack. He was born July 23, 1940 in Charlottesville, son of Golda Mason Conner of Copper Hill and the late William C. Conner Sr. He had resided in Ambridge, Pa. for the past seven years, and was a co-director of the short term missions of the South American Missionary Society of Ambridge, Pa. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Eleanor Ann Bremmer Conner of Ambridge; three daughters and their husbands, Victoria and David Lines of Pasadena, Md., Charlotte and Alan Graham of Springfield, Cheryl and Paul Fowler, Plano, Texas; two grandchildren, Joseph Alan Graham, Springfield, Conner David Lines, Pasadena, Md.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol and Eugene Wimmer and Phoebe and Floyd Schuyler, both of Roanoke. HINER, Janie Loyd, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday, October 20, 1996. Mrs. Hiner was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a member of Carrie Lee Chapter #108 O.E.S., and was a retired saleslady from Ewald-Clark Inc. She was the widow of Thomas Jefferson Hiner; and is survived by Christine Webb, Salem, Chris Webb, Rockville, Md., and a number of close friends. Funeral services will be held at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, Tuesday, October 22, 3 p.m. with Dr. Harry Y. Gamble officiating. Interment in Evergreen Burial Park. HUDDLESTON, Warren Berkeley, Sr., 86 of Vinton, passed away Sunday, October 20, 1996 at his home. He was a charter member of Waverly Place Baptist Church and a member of the Roanoke Missionary and Social Union. At Waverly Place Church he was a Sunday School Teacher, Chairman of the Board of Deacons and Sunday School Superintendent. Mr. Huddleston was a dedicated, loyal church member. In 1976 Mr. Huddleston was named ""FATHER OF THE YEAR"" for the Roanoke Valley. Warren Huddleston is best remembered in Vinton as Co-Owner and Owner of H and H Supermarket. He served his community as an active member of the Vinton Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Huddleston was the past president of the Roanoke Grocers Association, an independent retail association. He was the past president of the Vinton Lion's Club in which he was a member for 50 years. Warren Huddleston is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Pearl Nofsinger Huddles ton; four daughters and their spouses, Janice and David Humphrey, Alice and Larry Lackey, Carolyn and Charles McCarty and Becky Conner; one son and spouse, Warren Jr. and Sue Huddleston, all of Vinton; ten grandchildren, Reggie, Anthony, Brian and Valerie Conner, Michele Wickham, Tracy Greene, Vickie Houseman, Chris McCarty, Daryl and Lori Huddleston; three step-grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; sister, Bernice Thornton, Hendersonville, N.C. Lucille Tyree and Barbara Mullins were wonderful caregivers during his lengthy illness. Funeral services will be conducted from Waverly Place Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 23, 1996 with the Rev. Charles Hoffler officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. INGRAM, William Paul, 85, of Bland, died Sunday, October 20, 1996, in the Wythe County Community Hospital. He was born in Bland County, the son of the late Harmon and Sally Davis Ingram. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge No. 87, Wytheville, and was preceded in death by two sisters, Freddie Sadler, Virginia Rakes; a brother, Leroy Ingram; one granddaughter, Melissa Renea Ingram. He is survived by his wife, Mary D. Ingram of Bland; a daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Eugene Morgan of Salem; a son and daughter-in-law, Billy W. ``Buddy'' and Joyce A. Ingram of Manassas; a sister-in-law, Allie H. Ingram of Bland; grandson, David Kirby of Salem; two great-grandsons, Billy and Tony Kirby of Salem; two stepgrandchildren, Teresa Czapp, David Johnson, both of Manassas; one stepgreat-granddaughter, Shara Czapp of Manassas. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 23, 1996, at 11 a.m. at the Newberry Funeral Chapel in Bland with the Rev. Dale Johnson officiating. JEFFREYS, Isabel H., 99, of Salem, died Monday, October 21,1996 at her home. Born in Detroit, Michigan, she had been a Salem resident since 1940. She was an active and longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Salem. She was preceded in death by her husband and sons, George A. Jeffreys and Dr. Donald B. and Harold G. Jeffreys. Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Keith C. Jeffreys of Salem, Robert H. and Patricia Jeffreys of Cleveland Heights, Ohio; a daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy J. and Raymond VanValkenburg of Salem; a daughter-in-law, Gayle Jeffreys of Greenville, N. He was born November 28, 1896 in Pittsylvania County, a son of the late Robert Lee Mitchell and Dora Dellis Mitchell. His wife was the late Elma Brooks Mitchell. He was a retired farmer and was a member of the Patmos United Methodist Church. He is survived by a daughter, Doris Mitchell Fallin, Huddleston; one grandchild. SMITH, Harry Feagans Jr., 80, of Bedford, passed away Sunday night, October 20, 1996, at 11:40 p.m. at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was born in Bedford County on November 30, 1915, a son of the late Harry Smith and Nora Ella Feagans Smith, natives of Bedford County. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Charlie Smith, Joe B. Smith, Archie K. Smith, and G. Edward (Ed) Smith. Mr. Smith was a member of the Flint Hill Baptist Church in Bedford County. He was a former owner of the store at Flint Hill and retired from Sealtest Dairy in Bedford. He was an avid hunter and sportsman, having been founder and president of the Flint Hill Riding Club, and was a member of the Slate River Hunt Club. He enjoyed raising Tennessee Walker horses and hunting dogs on his farm in Bedford County, and showing them. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edith Mae Woodford Smith, Bedford; his children, Dannie Eugene Smith, Linda Louise Smith Barbour, both of Lynchburg, Bonnie Jean Smith Griffin, Winston-Salem, N.C.; and six grandchildren. He also leaves the following brothers and sisters, Clyde Edward Smith and Catherine Smith Yopp, both of Bedford County, and Louise Smith Nance, Salem. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 1996, from the Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford, with interment to follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. She was born February 13, 1930, in Waynesboro, daughter of the late Joseph Byron Yount Jr. and Courtney Frances Pelter Yount. Survivors include a brother, J. B. Yount III of Waynesboro; two first cousins, Mrs. Fred T. (Doris Pelter) Dority of Roanoke and Mrs. Garrett W. (Patricia Pelter) Yost of Bluefield, W.Va.; numerous other cousins and many devoted friends. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 24, in the First Presbyterian Church, Waynesboro, by the Rev. James M. Wood Jr. Burial will be private in Riverview Cemetery.
