CARROLL CO. WASTES LEAD

Carroll County led by one point at halftime, but couldn't stop Graham in the second half in a 36-20 non-district football loss Saturday night in Bluefield.

The Cavaliers (5-4) fell behind early on a 67-yard touchdown run by Jared Tibbs and a 17-yard touchdown run by Walter Kennard.

Billy Clougher then scored one of his two touchdowns and the Cavaliers added another to lead 14-13 at halftime.

The G-Men (6-3) outscored Carroll County 23-6 in the second half.

Girls' basketball

Bath County 51, Eastern Mennonite 30: Katie Hardbarger scored 25 points and pulled down 11 rebounds as the Chargers roared to a non-district victory Saturday night in Hot Springs.

Hardbarger scored 10 of her points in Bath County's 17-point first quarter, and the Chargers (9-10) led 23-20 at the half.

Emily Mullett scored 16 points for Eastern Mennonite, including 10 in its 16-point second quarter.

Bath County pulled away in the second half behind its full-court press.
