THE TRUTH IN CATS AND DOGS

People think politics has gone to the dogs, or maybe the cats, or lizards, or...

A pet-owners survey shows that cat owners tend to be wealthier, older white homeowners whose children have left the nest. Yup, cat lovers love Dole.

Lizard owners are younger metropolitan homeowners, with children who haven't flown the coop yet. Count votes for Clinton here. (Please refrain from comments about crawling on bellies, slithering, etc.)

Dog owners have moderate to high incomes, few children and live in the traditional GOP areas of the country, so Dole gets the tail-wag here, too.

If you think there's something fishy in the White House, you're right. Fish owners are younger, married and kid-infested with moderate incomes. Clinton wins, when these waters are tested.

Clinton voters' statistics are for the birds; Dole's are for the small, warm fuzzies and the Newt.
