SHARE VIRGINIA TAKING SIGN-UPS FOR FOOD PACKS

SHARE Virginia will be having a special Thanksgiving package featuring a frozen turkey and fruits and vegetables for the holiday.

SHARE is open to anyone who wishes to participate. Each package costs $14 in cash or food stamps, plus 2 hours of volunteer time, in exchange for the $30 worth of packaged food. Community service may be done at the local host organization, the SHARE warehouse, or any other volunteer or church organization.

Sign-ups are being taken until Nov. 10 at SHARE host organizations. November distribution days will be on Friday, Nov. 22 and Saturday, Nov. 23. For more information call 540-381-1185. SHARE Virginia is a program of New River Community Action, Inc., a non-profit organization.
