Role models sought

In celebration of Black History Month in February, WSLS (Channel 10) i Roanoke is requesting nominations for its annual African-American Role Model Series.

Nominations of those who are commendable in age from high school students to senior citizens.

Marine cake cutting

The Roanoke Detachment of the Marine Corps League invites all former Marines, active duty Marines and reserve Marines to its 221st Birthday Cake Cutting Ceremony on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Disabled Americans Veterans Club, 2381 Roanoke Blvd.
