Poetry celebration
The Sow's Ear Press and The Arts Depot in Abingdon are co-sponsoring a poetry celebration Saturday from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at The Arts Depot, Depot Square.
The coffeehouse atmosphere will provide a relaxed backdrop for a poetry dialogue between two poets, poetry with jazz and readings.
Free coffee and refreshments will be provided.

Cinema Symposium
``The Cinema of Manipulation'' is the focus of Radford University's fall Cinema Symposium from Thursday through Saturday.
The public is invited to attend free screenings of three films which deal with psychological, political or socio-economic manipulation.
Roman Polanski's ``Death and the Maiden,'' a tale of revenge, will be shown Thursday at 7 p.m. Luis Puenzo's ``The Official Story,'' a complicated and moving look at the politics of Argentina, will be shown Friday at 7 p.m.
Quentin Tarantino's ``Reservoir Dogs,'' an intense look at violent men entangled in a crime that blows up in their faces, will be screened Saturday at 3 p.m.
The films will be shown in the school's Black Box Theatre, in Porterfield Hall.
