EDUCATION SPEAKER AT TECH TONIGHT

"Using schools to kill democracy in America," a discussion by professor Gary Fenstermacher, will be held at Virginia Tech at 7:30 tonight.

Fenstermacher, a professor of educational studies at the University of Michigan, will discuss school vouchers, charter schools and other trends that directly impact public schools.

He will speak in the auditorium of the Donaldson Brown Hotel and Conference Center. The event is free to the public.

Fenstermacher is the keynote speaker for Tech's 13th annual Excellence in Education Conference, which recognizes innovative teaching approaches in Virginia's public schools.
