A GOOD FRAME OF MIND

Eddie Morgan of Salem bowled his first 300 game Wednesday night at Roanoke's Hilltop Lanes.

``It feels pretty good I didn't think that I would ever bowl a 300 game,'' Morgan said. ``My average in this league is a 178, which is a little down for me. I'm usually in the 190s, but I've been struggling some lately.''

Morgan said he didn't begin to think about rolling a perfect game until the final frame and he didn't notice a small throng of onlookers that had gathered to watch the finish.

``I've been close before,'' Morgan said. ``I've gone nine frames perfect before, but I have always left the 10 pin on the 10th frame. This time I just concentrated on the final frame. My teammates were busy trying to calm me down.''
