BOSH PRITCHARD PLAYED on two NFL championship teams and was a member of the VMI and Virginia sports halls of fame.
Running back Bosh Pritchard, named to the Philadelphia Eagles' all-time team in 1965, died Thursday at his home in Fort Myers, Fla., the NFL team announced. He was 77.
Pritchard, a VMI graduate, played for the Eagles from 1942-51, averaging 4.4 yards per carry and 15.6 yards per catch in his NFL career. He was a radio announcer when the Eagles won the 1960 championship.
He was a member of the Eagles' 1948 and 1949 NFL championship teams, playing in the backfield with Steve Van Buren, Joe Muha and Tommy Thompson.
Pritchard is a member of the VMI Sports Hall of Fame, as well as the sports halls of fame of Virginia and Pennsylvania.
A memorial service is scheduled Sunday afternoon at Deltura Country Club in North Fort Myers, Fla.
