A Virginia family of four escaped serious injury Saturday when their single-engine plane developed engine trouble and landed in the marshes of Altamaha Sound, officials said.
Glynn County officials found the plane upright about 2 miles short of the Glynco Jetport runway.
The occupants were the pilot, a 35-year-old Mechanicsville man, his 35-year-old wife and their daughters, ages 9 and 5, said Seaman Lori Parker of the U.S. Coast Guard's Savannah air station. Their names were not released.
They were flying from Richmond to Kissimmee, Fla.
