The U.S. Forest Service will give people a chance today to see information that will be used in development of a new management plan for the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests.
From 4 to 7 p.m. at the office of the forest supervisor at 5162 Valleypointe Parkway in Roanoke County, people can look at the various inventories the Forest Service has conducted on the Jefferson. The inventories include an accounting of scenery, old-growth forest, roadless areas, recreation, timber, wildlife and ecosystems.
