Radford City Council did not meet in executive session Tuesday night to discuss a possible new courthouse, as it had planned. Architectural and engineering consultants Hansen Lind Meyer Inc. did not have materials ready in time for the meeting. Mayor Tom Starnes said that council may meet in executive session directly before or after the next regular council meeting on Nov. 25.
Changes to the city's downtown and university district parking regulations are under review and will be voted on at the next meeting. Parking restrictions in the early morning hours are in place to aid in snow removal and street cleaning, though some downtown merchants and their patrons have complained of being ticketed. The latest rewrite is designed to increase compliance with the restrictions by making them uniform.
