PATRICK HENRY HIGH SCHOOL recently had five students recognized by the College Board. Gordon Lawson, Allison Suggs, Taharee Webb and Clark Williams received the AP Scholar with Honor Award for scoring a 3 or higher on four or more Advanced Placement exams with an average score of at least 3.5.
Nathan Musselman received the AP Scholar award for earning a 3 or higher on three or more AP exams.
Most colleges and universities grant college credit for a score of 3 or higher on AP exams.
SARAH VAUGHAN, a junior at Staunton River High School, has been selected to attend The National Young Leaders Conference Nov. 19-24 in Washington, D.C. At the conference, she will meet leaders in government, diplomacy and the news media.
Students will visit foreign embassies, receive briefings from government officials, role-play members of the executive branch dealing with an international crises, and participate in a mock Congress where they will debate, amend and vote on immigration legislation.
