Tournament MVP Pierre Venditti had a goal and an assist as Maryland stunned top-seeded Virginia 2-0 on Sunday in the ACC men's soccer final in Charlottesville.
After a scoreless first half, Venditti beat UVa goalie Yuri Sagatov high to the near post with a 15-yard blast from the right in the 56th minute. Shane Dougherty converted the rebound of Venditti's shot with five minutes remaining to seal the victory for the Terrapins (13-5-3).
Russell Payne made five saves to record the shutout for Maryland.
The Cavaliers (17-2-3) saw their home-field unbeaten streak end at 34 games.
