Authors to sign 'Trailers' book at Tech
BLACKSBURG - Carol Burch Brown and David Rigsbee will sign copies of their book, "Trailers," at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Hillcrest Hall at Virginia Tech. The book contains photographs by Burch-Brown and text by poet David Rigsbee. The book "probes inside a feature of the American landscape that is often denigrated or dismissed," according to the University Press of Virginia.
Burch-Brown is an associate professor of art in the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies at Virginia Tech. Rigsbee is a native of North Carolina who has written six previous books of poetry and criticism.
Speaker to focus on rain forest issues
BLACKSBURG - The School of Public and International Affairs at Virginia Tech will have a public lecture on "Rain Forest Medicines: Promises, Practicalities and Policies" Wednesday. Juggler to visit Radford library
RADFORD - To celebrate Children's Book Week, the Radford Public Library will present juggler Stephen A'Della at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The program is called "A Show of Hands" and includes basic sign language and a demonstration of juggling and play. People of all ages are invited to the event.
